This dataset and accompanying materials relate to the study titled <i>“Transformational Leadership and Employee Innovative Behavior in Ethiopian Public Research Universities: Mediating Role of Organizational Culture.”</i> The research investigates how transformational leadership practices influence employee innovative behavior (EIB) among academic and administrative staff, with a particular focus on the mediating effect of organizational culture.Using quantitative survey data collected from multiple Ethiopian public research universities, the study employs structural equation modeling (SEM) to examine causal pathways and the strength of mediation effects. The findings contribute to understanding how leadership styles can foster innovation in higher education institutions within developing country contexts.The dataset includes anonymized survey responses, coding information, and analysis summaries that support the manuscript’s results. It is intended to facilitate transparency, reproducibility, and further research on leadership and innovation in organizational and educational settings.<br>
