Methane flux data from sediment cores collected near the Woolsey carbonate-gas hydrate mound, Mississippi Canyon, January 2011

This dataset reports methane, ethane, and propane concentrations from sediment cores collected near a carbonate-gas hydrate mound, Woolsey Mound. Data from 65 samples, representing 5 sediment cores are provided. Sediment cores were collected along the Louisiana shelf slope, in Mississippi Canyon, lease block 118 (MC118) using piston-assisted gravity cores (JPC Cores, TDI Brooks International, Inc) in January 2011. Dissolved inorganic carbon, sulfate, and chloride concentrations are also reported in this dataset file. These data were used to characterize gas source and calculate methane flux.
