Transcription of intergenic spacer of the rRNA gene

As inferred from mouse cell models, intergenic spacer regions (IGS) located between rRNA transcription units contain upstream promoters and are transcribed by RNA Polymerase I. The IGS transcripts originate approximately 2 Kb upstream of the start of rRNA transcription and proceed though the main promoter of the rRNA gene.根据小鼠细胞模型推断，位于rRNA转录单元之间的基因间间隔区（IGS）包含上游启动子，并由RNA聚合酶I进行转录。IGS转录本起源于rRNA转录起始点上游约2千碱基处，并沿rRNA基因的主启动子进行转录。
