Gone with the Wind: Federalism and the Strategic Location of Air Polluters

Geographic data on the latitude and longitude of major air polluters and large quantity generators of hazardous waste in the continental United States. Also includes weather data on prevailing wind direction at 299 weather stations across the continental United States. One R program manages data by predicting wind direction at all polluter locations through a kriging process and calculating distance to the downwind state border. A second R program estimates a variety of point pattern models of the relative risk of a major air polluter conditional on the downwind distance to the state border.
