Population genetics of the Malagasy olive (Noronhia lowryi, Oleaceae) in quartzite savannahs from Central Madagascar. Noronhia lowryi

Noronhia is an Oleaceae genus with more 100 species distributed in Africa and Madagascar. In this study, we developed a few microsatellite loci that were transferable to the whole Noronhia genus. These loci were validated on Noronhia lowryi for genotype identification (for assessing the importance of clonal growth in natural population) and investigating gene flow among and within population. The loci can also be used to identify Noronhia species and reveal polyploids.
