资源简介:
Model output files associated with the JGR Space Physics article
2025JA034461, Naylor et al. (in review) "Soft X-Ray Emission from
Saturn's Magnetosheath II: Solar Wind Driving". This study uses
a simple 3D model of Saturn's magnetopause and bow shock to simulate
charge exchange in the magnetosheath and make the first estimates of soft
X-ray volumetric emission rates from the region, considering different
solar wind conditions. Companion paper, Rogan et al. (in review),
considers an MHD-derived model of the magnetosheath). The study also makes
simple estimates of the flux arriving at a spacecraft approach the system,
with a SMILE-like and hypothetical future X-ray imaging instrument
considered. This dataset contains model output files for Enceladus-sourced
neutral density, magnetosheath ion density, volumetric emission rate (VER)
for the different solar wind conditions considered and intensity/flux in
each plane for the different solar wind conditions/X-ray imager
configuration. Finally, point source files contain integration time as a
function of distance from Saturn, linked to section 3.5/figure
