1.1 Background The Royal Commission plays a leading role in the recording of the historic environment both terrestrial and marine. The National Monuments Record of Wales is a national collection of information about the historic environment of Wales. The National Monuments Record of Wales contains details of many thousands of archaeological sites, monuments, buildings and maritime sites in Wales, together with an index to the drawings, manuscripts and photographs held in the NMRW archive collections. 1.2 Frequency of Update The National Monuments Record is an ever evolving resource which is being constantly updated by new discoveries and research of the historic environment. To ensure that the information that is provided on Data Map Wales is up to date, this dataset will be updated on a quarterly basis. 1.3 Use of Data When you use this data under the Open Government Licence, you should include the following attribution: This site data is from the National Monuments Record of Wales (NMRW), produced by the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales (RCAHMW). © Crown Database Right: RCAHMW, licensed under the Open Government Licence 3.0. 1.4 Other Information Further information regarding the National Monuments Record can be found on the Royal Commission's website.
