Railroad Rights of Way

This hosted feature layer has been published in RI State Plane Feet NAD 83 This dataset represents railroad rights of way (including rail lines, active and inactive, as well as abandoned trolley lines) present within Rhode Island. This data set was created for the Rhode Island Department of Transportation to show and reference all rail lines, active and inactive, as well as abandoned trolley lines in the state of Rhode Island. Rail coverage contains all rail center lines, active and inactive, as well as abandoned trolley lines and old abandoned rail systems now used for other than rail purposes digitized from Spring 1997 photography and since updated using aerial photography from Spring 2008.
