VPRS 11389 Committee Records

This series comprises a variety of records collected or created in the course of inquiries conducted by the Mortuary Industry and Cemeteries Administration Committee. The series includes documentation relating to inquiries which the Committee did not complete when its appointment and terms of reference were not extended by Parliament in 1988.The records of this Committee differ from those created by many other Committees in that the majority of the records were created as part of a formal record keeping system controlled by two numbers. Some records were not incorporated into this system and have also been placed in this series.The contents of this series includes:* background papers comprising copies of printed material, reports etc gathered by the Committee in the course of initial research;* minutes of meetings held by the Committee;* general correspondence relating to either the actual investigation or organisational aspects of the inquiry;* submissions tendered by individuals or organisations during the investigation stating their views on the issues concerned.* transcripts of hearings held as part of each inquiry;* reports including the draft and final printed copy as presented to Parliament containing the Committee's findings and recommendations.
