Situated deep in the Carron Valley forest are two adjacent standing stones: one upright, the other semi-recumbent. Cups markings have been reported on the latter. However, on visiting these (15/2/19) it was apparent that any markings are natural. The rocks are a conglomerate with somewhat angular, gravel sized stones in a rather coarse sandstone matrix. There are depressions on the semi-recumbent stone but these are quite apparently the residual impressions of larger stones that have weathered out of the matrix.
