Latitudinal gradients in phosphorus and vegetation biomass for Sweden and Denmark

These data were combined for a figure depicting strong latitudinal gradients in phosphorus fertilizer and manure application and aboveground vegetation biomass for Sweden and Denmark. An intersection between human and natural gradients can lead to cross-regional contrasts in energy and mass transfer to lakes and explain the presence of thresholds in lake C cycling. Data were averaged within latitudinal bands for the extent of Sweden and Denmark and plotted as splines to emphasize the overall patterns. Data sources are: Cheruvelil, K.S. J.-F. Lapierre, and D.
