Extensively drug-resistant P. aeruginosa has been highlighted as a serious public health threat. The isolates designated Pae51 and Pae52, were obtained in 2020 from tracheobronchial aspirates of intensive care unit patients with ventilator-associated pneumonia. Pae51 and Pae52 were resistant to all antipseudomonal beta-lactams including carbapenems, aminoglycosides and fluoroquinolones, but remained susceptible to colistin and cefiderocol.
