Bacteriophages are known agents of gene mobilization across bacterial populations. They are also important for the ecological dynamics of the nitrogen fixing symbiotic bacteria species of Rhizobium. Here, we isolate from soil samples diverse bacteriophages that infect strains of Rhizobium etli. Further, we characterized them by host range, electronic microscopy, and obtained the complete genome sequence of them.
