WGS of Halomonas tamanensis sp. nov., a novel facultatively anaerobic bacterium, isolated from a terrestrial mud volcano.A novel facultatively anaerobic haloalkaliphilic strain C05BenzN was isolated from terrestrial mud volcano Gnilaya Gora, Taman peninsula, Russia. Cells were motile rods 1.8-2.5 micrometer in length and 0.73 micrometer in diameter. Could grow aerobically with carbohydrates, proteinaceous substrates and organic acids, microaerobically with 1% O2 or anaerobically with anthraquinone-2,6-disulfonate as an electron acceptor. Mesophile, optimum for growth was 25 C. pH optimum for growth was 8.0. NaCl optimum for growth was 1.0-2.0 %. The DNA G+C content of strain C05BenzN was 67.47 mol%.
