In this study, we applied a RNAcode-based gene prediction strategy to detect previously unannotated protein families present in a set of virus-enriched human metagenomics samples. The aim was to use the predicted protein families as anchors to follow up and discover , if any, uncharacterized viruses that might be present in any of these samples.
