Hair cortisol concentration method validation study 2

The dataset set shows the hair cortisol concentration from hair samples collected from 53 participants that were analysed using the hair cortisol analysis method developed by the ARU Biomarker Laboratory.<br>The hair sample from each participant had hair cortisol extracted into methanol and then the methanol was split between tubes for analysis via ELISAs within our laboratory (ARU Biomarker Laboratory: https://arubiomarkerlab.co.uk/) and the other tube sent for external analysis via LC-MS/MS.<br>The SPSS file contains the hair cortisol concentrations from both LC-MS/MS and ELISA (corrected for hair weight) and the original uncorrected ELISA concentrations, which ELISA plate the samples were processed on and the order in which the aliquots of methanol went into the tubes (1= ELISA tube first and 2= LCMS/MS tube first).<br>Age, BMI, height and weight, medication and hair colour and hair washing variables have been removed as they may allow identification of participants. Please contact the researchers if this data may be of relevance.<br>The ELISA dataset provides detailed output from the ELISA analysis for each sample. Includes: cortisol replicate data and optical density data from the primary read (450nm) and the secondary read (620nm).<br><br>The research was conducted in accordance with ethical approval from the Faculty of Science and Technology Research Ethics Panel (FREP) at Anglia Ruskin University.<br>The research is currently being submitted for publication and this dataset forms study 2.
