eduroam CAT: Simplifying the eduroam Setup on Android

This bachelor’s thesis is based on a review of the eduroam network and issues arising during its setup. In particular, the setup on Android phones is analyzed and an app that simplifies this setup process is to be implemented. Since there already is an app which takes care of the eduroam setup, this apps will be evaluated. For the current official app “eduroam CAT” by GÉANT, a survey has been conducted to collect feedback, which then will influence the implementation of the app behind this thesis. The thesis focuses on a clean and simple user interface and is based on a previously developed prototype containing a working backend. The thesis was submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the course “Applied Computer Science” and was supervised by Dr. Sven Bingert (GWDG) and Dr. Christian Köhler (GWDG)
