Description
This dataset supports the review article titled “A systematic review on criteria for land suitability assessment for tea cultivation” . The dataset contains bibliographic references, extracted literature information, harmonized suitability criteria, and synthesized datasets compiled during a systematic review conducted under the PRISMA 2020 framework.
The review examined global literature on multi-criteria land suitability assessment for tea cultivation, focusing on influential environmental, climatic, topographic, edaphic, land cover, and accessibility factors used in tea suitability evaluation. A total of 59 peer-reviewed articles and 4 reports were selected after systematic screening and eligibility assessment from databases including ScienceDirect, Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar, AGRIS, SpringerLink, EBSCOhost, MDPI, and PubMed.
The dataset includes extracted information on:
• Study locations and geographical coverage
• Environmental suitability thresholds
• Soil suitability criteria
• Climatic suitability criteria
• Topographic suitability criteria
• Environmental surface and land cover indicators
• Accessibility indicators
• Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) weights
• Multi-criteria decision-making approaches
• Validation methods employed in reviewed studies
• Harmonized suitability ratings (S1, S2, S3, N)
The synthesized database was used to identify the most influential factors affecting tea cultivation suitability globally and to harmonize suitability thresholds across different agroecological contexts. The dataset is intended to support reproducibility, meta-analysis, comparative studies, and future development of standardized global tea land suitability assessment frameworks.
