Asbestos Licence Database

Database was set up in 1997 to record details of all asbestos licences and applications for asbestos licences since 1984. It contains 5543 records for current and previous licence holders – 479 of these are current (at 23/8/13). The information contained is: Asbestos Licence Number, Start and Expiry Date of the asbestos licence, Name of Asbestos Licence Holder, Address and telephone number of asbestos licence holder, Construction Division (CD) area for the head office of the asbestos licence holder, Number of employees at the time of application, Number of employees specifically working with asbestos at the time of application, Name of applicant, Name of Asbestos Licensing Principal Inspector (ALPI) the application was sent to, Brief history of any interactions with the licence holder for example, changes of name, or address or known links with other asbestos licence holders where available, Any Enforcement and conviction details, Visits to notified asbestos work relating to specific licence holders, Copy of the asbestos licence
The data contained is both historical and current. It has details of licences granted under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 (and previous regulations) and is maintained in tandem with the Corporate Operational Information System (COIN). This keeps accurate records of licensed asbestos contractors to manage the asbestos licensing system and provide statistical data. The data contains some personal address and contact details and some details of previous enforcement for some companies.
