资源简介:

This dataset contains the data used to create the figures in: Fischer, R., Farrell, S. L., Duncan, K., & Yi, D. (2025). Swath Mapping Altimetry over Sea Ice: First Results from the Surface Water and Ocean Topography (SWOT) Mission, Geophysical Research Letters, under review. The dataset contains sea ice height, backscatter, freeboard, and ice type, at case study locations in the Beaufort Sea in April-June 2023. The data are derived from the SWOT Level 2 KaRIn Low Rate Sea Surface Height Unsmoothed Data Product, Version C (SWOT 2024), and the ICESat-2 Global Geolocated Photon Height Product (ATL03, Neumann et al., 2023), release 006. File formatAll data are stored as NetCDF files (.nc). SWOT data is grouped by swath (left, right) and stored in a 2D (along-track, across-track) grid with a nominal resolution of ~250 m. ICESat-2 data is grouped by beam (gt1l, gt2l, gt3l), and a running average is applied on a per-shot basis, nominally resulting in elevation measurements at ICESat-2's along-track sampling of ~0.7 m. The running average is applied with a 29-shot (~20 m) and 714-shot (~500 m) window. See README for a description of the file specifics. Grant Information This study was supported by NOAA grants NA19NES4320002 and NA24NESX432C0001 (Cooperative Institute for Satellite Earth System Studies, CISESS) at the University of Maryland and the Ocean Surface Topography Science Team.
