Individual and Cultural Differences in Sound Perception – Survey Data

This dataset contains survey responses from a cross-cultural study on sound perception, focusing on individual and cultural differences. Participants from Algeria, Europe, and the USA rated different sounds on dimensions such as preference, emotional response, and associations with memories, shapes, or colors. The dataset includes demographic information (age, gender, cultural background) along with detailed responses to sound perception questions. It can be used to explore cultural influences on auditory preferences, cross-modal associations, and potential applications in music therapy and sound design. Data were collected in 2025 using an online survey. Responses have been anonymized to protect participant privacy.
