The datasets [01-04] contain source MHD simulation data (dbgxxx.dat) and two MATLAB scripts in each folder. The dataset [05] contains source PIC simulation data and three MATLAB scripts. These datasets are used in the paper "Effective resistivity for magnetohydrodynamic simulation of collisionless magnetic reconnection ", which has been submitted to the Journal of Geophysical Research Space Physics. For all MHD cases [01-04]: The plot_reconnection_rate.m can be used to plot the time evolutions of the reconnection rate, the out-of-plane electric field, the total resistivity, and the out-of-plane current density at the X-point. The plot_2D_field.m script can be used to plot 2D mode structures of current density, magnetic field, plasma flow, and other relevant quantities. The 4 folders correspond to 4 MHD simulation cases with different parameters regarding the Hall term and the effective resistivity, respectively. 01_without_Hall_without_eta_effective The Hall term is disabled, and the effective resistivity is disabled. 02_without_Hall_with_eta_effective The Hall term is disabled, but the effective resistivity is enabled with $\kappa=0.02$. 03_with_Hall_without_eta_effective The Hall term is enabled with $d_i=1.0$, but the effective resistivity is disabled. 04_with_Hall_with_eta_effective The Hall term is enabled with $d_i=1.0$, and the effective resistivity is enabled with $\kappa=0.02$. For the PIC case [05]: The plot_2D_field_B.m can be used to plot 2D mode structures of the out-of-plane magnetic field component. The plot_2D_field_J.m can be used to plot 2D mode structures of the out-of-plane current density component. The plot_X_point_field_vs_t.m can be used to plot the time evolutions of the out-of-plane electric field, the out-of-plane current density, and the resistivity (= electric field / current density) at the X-point. 05_PIC_case The PIC case was simulated with similar plasma parameters (please refer to the manuscript for the detailed parameters).
