In this research, laccase enzyme was immobilized on metal-polymer composite beads, and the beads were used to treat dye and antibiotics in wastewater. Laccase was also immobilized on a metal-polymer composite for application in the detection of organic pollutants in tap and wastewater. Laccase enzyme was immobilized on metal-polymer composites comprising either zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnONPs) or silver-doped ZnONPs (Ag@ZnONPs) embedded in chitosan, polyvinylpolypyrrolidone (PVPP) and polyaniline (PANI) polymers.
