Gut microbiome sequencing of tau transgenic mice

This study investigates the gut microbiome in tau transgenic mice and wild-type controls to examine how tau pathology, sex, and diet influence microbial communities. Both male and female mice were included, and animals were fed either a standard or high-fat diet. Fecal samples were collected for 16S rRNA V4 sequencing. The findings are expected to provide insights into the role of the gut microbiome in neurodegenerative processes and the interactions between diet, sex, and tau-associated pathology, contributing to a better understanding of Alzheimer's disease mechanisms.
