This manuscript is now IO Islamic 2820 in the India Office collections.

2820. Size 71/4 in. by 41/2 in.; foll. 212. From thirteen to seventeen lines in a page.
I.Foll. 1-24. Badr al-dîn Muḥammad SIBṬ MÂRIDÎNÎ’S (d. A.H. 934) Commentary on a treatise in (Rajaz) verse. On the Law of Inheritance, styled المقدمة الرحبیة. Cf. Ḥ. Kh. iv. 398 sq., according to whom the treatise is properly entitled بغیة الباحث.1 The author of it is not known. It begins in this MS. as follows:
اول ما نستفتح المقالا بذکر ربنا تعالی (!) والحمدلله علی ما انعما حمدا یجلو عن القلب العمی
The commentary commences:
قال الشیخ الامام ....الحمدلله رب العالمین ...اما بعد فهذا شرح مختصر علی المقدمة الرحبیة فی الفرائض.
Dated Saturday, 29th Muḥarram, 1080.
II.Foll. 26-40. A moral treatise, styled انیس المتّقین, by ‘ABD AL-ṢAMAD b. Ḥusain b. Muḥammad.
Begins: الحمدلله الذی اقام السموات بغیر العماد. It is divided into five chapters, as follows:
1. فی بیان الغفلة و التکفر (التفکر.r);
2. العلم و الجهل;
(3. العقل و الحموقة1;)
4. الفقر و الدنیا;
5. المتوکل و الحریص.
Dated 17th Sha’bân..(year omitted). Transcribed by Shaikh Ibrâhîm کوبره, for his own use. The colophon is introduced by two Persian distichs.
A defect after fol. 32.
III.Foll. 41-172. Another work on Morals, probably entitled سراج القلوب. It was compiled from the traditions and various books, by an unknown author.
Begins: الحمدلله علی ما اولانا و الصلوة ...و بعد فهذا سراجُ القلوب و علاج الذنوب اتیتُ فیه من الاحادیث و الآثار و المواعظ المُرِقّات و الحکایات النافعات الخ.
It consists of a number of sections (فصل), the first of which is inscribed فی المبادرة الی الطاعة. Ghazzâlî, Yâfi’î, Damîrî, and others, are frequently quoted.
Completed on Thursday, 14th Sha’bân, 1055, by Ḥâfiẓ Aḥmad. Notes.
IV.Foll. 173-175. A moral Ḳaṣîdah, beginning:
ایا طالب الرزق الهنئ و نعمة
و من شر دنیا ثم اخری سلامة
Cf. no. VI. It has the erroneous superscription تتمة کتاب السنن, which belongs to the next piece.
V.a. Fol. 175v. The conclusion of ABU DÂ’ÛD SAJASTÂNÎ’S (d. A.H. 275) کتاب السنن. Cf. Ḥ. Kh. iii. 622.
b.Foll. 176 and 177. Various extracts.
VI.Foll. 177v.-198. A collection of Prayers drawn from the Tradition. Author unknown.
In two parts: 1. Daily prayers, الفصل الاول فیما تکرر للانسان فی الیوم و اللیلة من حین ایقاظه2 من النوم الی نومه باللیل.
2. Prayers for special occasions, الفصل الثانی فی اذکار و دعوات لامور عارضات.
Begins: الحمدلله رب العالمین ...و بعد فاعلم ایّها الحریص علی محو3 السیّئات، الراغب فی اکتساب الخیرات، ان الاشتغال بما ورد فی الحدیث النبوی من الاذکار و الدعوات الخ.
Ends (fol. 198r.):
خاتمة الکتاب فی خصال تورث البرکة و الوقر و تنفی السوء و الفقر ذکرها الامام الوصابی (!) فی کتاب البرکة نفعنا الله به و هی منظومة فی هذه الابیات.
Then follows the beginning of the above-mentioned Ḳaṣîdah (no. IV.), written on the margins of this page and the preceding.
VII. Foll. 198v.-200. A short treatise on the properties of every hour in the week. Inscribed: هذا خصال هو الساعات (!).
Begins:
الحمدلله علی ما هو اهله ...فان فی هذه الورقات خصائص الساعات خصائص ساعات یوم السبت الاولی لزحل ردیة الخ.
It is followed by a list of the companions of the Prophet who knew the Koran by heart.
VIII. Foll. 201-204. A legendary account of the wedding of Fâṭimah.
Begins:
هذا قصة تزویج فاطمة رضی الله عنها قال الشیخ ان الله تبارک و تعالی خلق الخلق الخ.
The contents of the first page, which had been lost, have been written on the margin of fol. 201.
IX. Foll. 205-209. A fragment, containing the latter portion of a work on daily prayers.
X. Foll. 210-212. A prayer in verse, inscribed هذا المناجات لقضاء الحوائج من المُجربات.
Begins:
لک الحمد یا ذی الجود و المجد و العلی
تبارکت تعطی من تشاء و تمنع
With a Persian interlinear translation, also in verse. It is followed by various alleged sayings of the Prophet.
Written by various hands.
The seal of Ḥâfiẓ Aḥmad (see no. III.) is impressed on most of the tracts.
