Introduction This dataset contains the output of an Large-Eddy Simulation (LES) of the field campaign of the French national project SMARTEOLE (https://zenodo.org/records/7342466) performed with ASPIRE, an LES model operated by Whiffle. Description The exact simulation setup can be found in "aspforge.yml". The setup consists of two nested simulations. First, a mesoscale simulation is run using ERA5 reanalysis data. Second, an LES simulation is run using the mesoscale simulation. The grid resolutions (∆x, ∆y, ∆z), the domain dimensions (Lx, Ly , Lz ), and the number of grid cells (Nx, Ny , Nz ) in each spacial direction are shown in the table below. In the vertical direction, the grid resolution is stretched. The vertical spacing begins at Δz0 and, above the height z_constant, increases by a factor z_growth. A default power curve of a turbine with a diameter of 82 m, a rated power of 2.05 MW, and a hub height of 80 m is used. The turbines operate without wake steering. The coordinates of the turbines are shown in the table below. The data is sampled every 10 seconds, and for each data point, the average is taken over a 10-minute period. Each day is simulated seperately. The mesoscale simulation has a spin-up time of 6 hours, and the LES has a spin-up time of 1 hour. The figure "SMARTEOLE_simulation_setup.svg" shows the average wind speed at hub height for one day (17-02-2020) at the top, and a satellite image of the domain at the bottom. The left side of the figure is the mesoscale domain, and the right side is the LES domain. The blue square in the mesoscale domain indicates the relative size and location of the LES domain. The seven blue lines in the LES domain indicate the turbine positions. The folder "les_output" contains a NETCDF file for each simulated day. The folder is structured with subfolders for each year, month and day. For example, the output of 17-02-2020 can be found at "les_output\les_output\2020\02\17\00\turbinesOut.les.nc".
