RNA-seq analysis of MPCs treated with FGF1 variants

RNA-seq is a powerful tool to analyze differential expression of cellular pathways under different conditions. The goal of this study is to analyze the potential pathways involved in cellular defense against high glucose challenge with or without FGF1 intervention. MPC cells were starved for 12 hours in serum-free RPMI-1640 medium and pretreated with FGF1 wild type or FGF1 variant (100 ng/mL) for 1 hour. Then, the cells were challenged with high glucose (25 mM) (with D-mannitol as an osmotic control) for 12 hours. After that, cells were harvested for RNA-seq analysis.
