Gene expression profile at single cell level of liver cells from the mouse liver under normal and 24 hour fasting condition

Because IGFBP2 labeling increased substantially with fasting, we used single nuclear transcriptomics to explore zonation as a function of nutrition, revealing that the zonal division of labor shifts dramatically with fasting. 6 week old C57BL/6 mice were purchased from Jackson Laboratory and maintained until 8 weeks of age. For fasting group, mice were fasted for 24 hours before hepatocyte isolation. Littermates with ad libitum feeding were collected at the same time. For each sample, two biological replicates (n = 2 mice) were collected and combined.
