SPIKED (SPeleothem Isoscapes using Kriging with an External Drift)

This dataset consists of speleothem-based quasi-global isoscapes of the oxygen isotopic composition ofprecipitation water. They were obtained by interpolating speleothem oxygen isotope records from the SISAL database via kriging with an externaldrift (KED), where the external drift is driven by the iTraCE simulated isotope data. The dataset consists of 45 isoscapes span-ning the last deglaciation interval 20-11 ka BP in non-overlapping slices of 200 years. Due to the lack of speleothem recordstowards the poles, high latitudes were excluded. The 45 isoscapes are stored in the spiked_20_to_11_kaBP.nc file, and also plotted in png files in the spiked_png.zip folder. The speleothem observations used to produce the isoscapes are also available along with the site name, coordinates (lat/lon) and corresponding elevation in speleothem_sites_20_to_11_kaBP.csv. A non-exhaustive tutorial (Jupyter Notebook) on how to open and manipulate the isoscapes is available in the code repository linked to this dataset.
