We performed an RNA-seq analysis to study MYCN target genes in cell lines derived from anaplastic Wilms' tumour, particularly associated with poor prognosis. MYCN depletion correlated with severe growth restriction, and lead to down-regulation of genes with functions in ribosomal and mitochondrial biogenesis, RNA processing and splicing. MYCN was shown to upregulate LIN28B, a known oncogene in Wilms' tumour and repress certain kidney developmental genes.
