Nuclear waste present in France 2022, by level of radioactivity

In 2022, the volume of radioactive waste stored or to be stored in France was around 1.8 million cubic meters. Over one million of them were of low-to-intermediate or very low radioactivity and required short-term management. The remaining of the total nuclear waste present on the French territory in 2022 had a lifetime of hundreds of thousands of years. France is currently developing the project of a deep geological disposal facility to store high-level and intermediate-level radioactive waste.于2022年，法国储存或即将储存的放射性废物总量约为180万立方米。其中超过一百万立方米的废物属于低至中等或非常低放射性，需进行短期管理。在2022年存在于法国领土上的总核废物中，剩余部分具有数百万年的半衰期。法国目前正在推进建设深地质处置设施的项目，以储存高等级和中等等级的放射性废物。
