A dataset of head observations in Dutch canal dikes covering 108 head time series at 48 different monitoring sites/canal dikes. Multiple head observations can located at one monitoring site, where piezometers are aligned within a dike cross-section, for example, measurements in the inner slope and toe of the dike. These measurements are distributed across the following Dutch regional water authorities/water boards: Hoogheemraadschap Schieland &amp; de Krimpenerwaard (HHSK), Hoogheemraadschap Delfland (DL), Hoogheemraadschap Rijnland (RL), Hoogheemraadschap Hollands Noorderkwartier (HHNK), Weterksip Fryslân (WF), Waterschap Amstel, Gooi and Vecht (AGV) and Hoogheemraadschap De Stichtse Rijnlanden (HDSR). <br>This dataset contains:An overview of the used measurements and their geographic location (CSV-file and shapefile)Hydraulic head data from piezometers (CSV-file)Rainfall and potential evaporation data (CSV-file)<br>A readme file describes the content of every file in more detail.<br>The measurements provided have been collected from various water authorities. Users of this data should carefully consider its applicability and limitations for their specific purposes. The data may have certain constraints, such as temporal and spatial limitations, measurement accuracy, and methodological differences among the sources. For detailed information or clarifications regarding the data, users are encouraged to contact the author or the corresponding water authorities directly.<br>Please note that data in various data management systems of water authorities or the KNMI may differ due to revalidations. Therefore, we explicitly mention that the data from HDSR were made available on 11/9/2023. This will help us identify and address any discrepancies more easily.<br>This research was supported by the STOWA and Rijkswaterstaat.
