Antimicrobial utilisation, resistance rates, and factors associated with antimicrobial density in intensive care units: a registry enabled, prospective evaluation of 129 low, lower-middle and upper middle income country ICUs

Antimicrobial use drives antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and is particularly high in Intensive Care Units (ICUs). This study described antimicrobial use and resistance across ICUs in low-, lower-middle-, and upper-middle-income countries and identified ICU-level factors associated with antimicrobial use.
