These volumes are arranged in chronological order. Each entry consists of the patient's name; occupation; age; social condition (married or single); nativity; address; classification on admission; date of transfer or change in classification (eg. voluntary, temporary, continuous treatment or inebriate); details of admissions to other hospitals; date of discharge or death; classification on discharge (eg. recovered, relieved, not improved); and mode of departure or cause of death. From 6 July 1970 fewer details are provided with only patient's name, unit number, sex and dates of admission and discharge given and occasionally name of hospital discharged to.
