This project investigates the genomic changes of Helicobacter pylori strain PMSS1 in response to systemic co-infection with Salmonella Typhimurium in a murine model. One control isolate (HS3-5.2), and three representative co-infected isolates (HS1-9.1, HS1-10.2, HS1-11.6) recovered after 8-weeks infection, were subjected to whole-genome sequencing. Comparative analysis identified co-infection-associated nonsynonymous mutations, particularly in genes related to membrane transport, including MFS transporters and corrinoid ABC transporter substrate-binding proteins. This genomic dataset provides insight into the adaptive strategies of H. pylori during polymicrobial infection and highlights isolates with enhanced virulence potential for future in vivo pathogenesis studies.
