Serigraph of women, children, and men on a bus driving south on "El Camino del Diablo," or "Devil's Highway," which is a treacherous 250-mile road in the Sonoran Desert frequently traversed by day laborers. A U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent can be seen entering the bus on the right. Atelier Statement: This project gathered 10 artists who live/lived the experience of being a day laborer in America to take part in a special printmaking atelier. The subject of each of the limited edition fine art serigraphs explore the artist's dreams of opportunity, met with the realities of oppression, abuse, and physical pain.
