Data files supporting the manuscript 'Effect of a polyphenol-rich pomegranate extract on plasma trimethylamine N-oxide levels following an oral carnitine challenge: a randomized controlled crossover trial in healthy adults'

This dataset contains the anonymised individual-level data supporting the analyses presented in the manuscript 'Effect of a polyphenol-rich pomegranate extract on plasma trimethylamine N-oxide levels following an oral carnitine challenge: a randomized controlled crossover trial in healthy adults,' containing data from the TESSA study. These data include plasma and urine measurments of trimethylamine (TMA), trimethylamine-N-oxide (TMAO), and L-carnitine following placebo and pomegranate extract interventions. Pharmacokinetic parameters (AUC, Cmax, Tmax, and t½) were derived from concentration-time profiles, alongside raw concentration data used for these calculations. The dataset also includes variables used in the linear mixed-effects and interaction analyses reported in the manuscript. All data are de-identified and provided to enable transparency, reproducibility, and secondary analyses consistent with the published study.
