Is NGC 470 HLX1 a pulsar

We propose to study one known hyperluminous Xray source, NGC 470 HLX1,simultaneously with XMM and NuSTAR for the first time. Archival soft Xray datasuggest that the source exhibits a hard pulsator like spectra and shows amarginal hint of pulsed signal. This motivates us to detect the pulsation in thenew high S/N data with high confidence and study its broadband spectralproperties to understand its underlying accretion mechanism which was previouslynot possible due to unavailability of broadband Xray data. Pulsar population inHLXs are rare, hence, if the detection of pulsation emerge to be a real signal,NGC 470 HLX1 will be the second HLX pulsar. Therefore we propose to coordinate asimultaneous observation with 70 ksec XMM and 120 ksec NuSTAR exposure for NGC 470 HLX1. truncated!, Please see actual data for full text [truncated!, Please see actual data for full text]
