The dataset is for the paper “The impact of subjective socioeconomic status on psychological contract formation and work engagement”.The dataset was obtained from a field survey conducted among employees of a technology service enterprise in southeast China. Data collection proceeded in two phases: (1) an initial survey was administered to gather demographic information (e.g., gender, age) and the independent variable (subjective socioeconomic status). (2) Then, an experience sampling method was implemented over 20 consecutive workdays for tracking employees’ daily experience. The daily measurement procedure was as follows: before the end of each workday, participants reported the mediators (relational contract and transactional contract); in the evening before bed, they assessed the moderator (perceived social support); and before the end of next workday, they evaluated the outcome variable (work engagement).The explanation of the variable abbreviations are provided in Sheet 2.
