Whole-Genome Sequences of Acinetobacter spp Isolated From Dairy Cow Manure Genome sequencing and assembly

Acinetobacter baumannii, a gram negative, aerobic, coccobacillus that has emerged as a significant pathogen, due to its versatile repertoire of antibiotic resistance mechanisms. Here, we report the whole genome sequences of four Acinetobacter baumannii and one Acinetobacter piscicolas isolated from cow manure samples collected from dairy farms in the Provinces of Quebec (QC), and Ontario (ON). The whole genome sequences of these isolates will aid developing sequence based tools for detection of virulence and antimicrobial resistance genotypes.
