Dataset of Factors Influencing Career Planning of Chinese University Students

This survey, conducted in China, investigated career planning and related influencing factors among university students. The survey was carried out from November to December 2025, with questionnaires sent online. A total of 1400 valid questionnaires were returned. The survey used a questionnaire format incorporating demographic information, employing a five-point Likert scale with ratings ranging from 1 ("strongly disagree") to 5 ("strongly agree"), and incorporating the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). The dataset includes respondents' career planning intentions (civil service exam, postgraduate entrance exam, employment), perceived behavioral control (certificates, internship experience, various self-efficacy assessments), attitudes (expectations of income, pursuit of social status, confidence in achieving goals, etc.), subjective norms (family support, teacher advice, influence of friends, etc.), and demographic characteristics (gender, year of study, major, whether a student leader, etc.). Researchers can use this data to explore the driving factors of university students' career planning.
