Field measurements collected during the 2024 study fires at Fort Stewart to calculate Fire Radiative
Power (FRP) and Fire Radiative Energy (FRE) from infrared cameras in sandhill longleaf pine. These field
observations were co-located with three-dimensional fuel and laser scan plots to allow for leveraging of
these other data (see datasets from Loudermilk et al). Radiometers (see dataset from Paki et al) were
also deployed over the fuel plots at different locations than the infrared cameras and are meant to be
used with the infrared camera data.
This dataset is part of the Wildland Fire Science Initiative (WFSI) research burn campaign held at
Fort Stewart from 2-8-2024 to 2-10-2024. In addition, pre- and post-fire data collection occurred before
