Longitudinal Trends in U.S. Faculty Aging and Academic Productivity
收藏资源简介:
This dataset contains the statistical outputs, summary tables, and data visualizations generated by Academic Analytics Research Center's (AARC) study of faculty aging at US universities. These files serve as the supplementary data and primary analytical artifacts in support of a forthcoming article evaluating the demographic shifts and research vitality of the U.S. scientific workforce. The analysis investigates longitudinal demographic trends, specifically the growth of the senior professoriate and junior faculty turnover rates, across various institutional tiers (AAU, Ivy+, and Carnegie R1/R2 classifications) using a balanced panel from 2011 to 2024. Additionally, the dataset includes comprehensive research productivity metrics evaluating patent generation, grant funding acquisition, and citations to journal articles over a recent five-year window (2020–2024) broken down by career stage. Included in this repository are the resulting data visualizations, raw descriptive headcount tables, and the results of all corresponding statistical analyses (including ANOVAs, Tukey HSD post-hoc tests, Wilcoxon rank-sum tests, and pairwise proportion tests). A complete file manifest detailing the specific contents and key results of each file is provided in the accompanying documentation.
