Transcriptome for antennae, tarsi and bodies of both sexes in Rhaphuma horsfieldi

The longhorned beetle Rhaphuma horsfieldi is a polyphagous species with larvae feeding on various host plants. Here, we sequenced the transcriptome for the antennae, tarsi and bodies of female and male adults using the Illumina sequencing technique. Further, we will characterize chemosensory-related gene families including odorant receptors, gustatory receptors, ionotropic receptors, sensory neuron membrane proteins, odorant binding proteins and chemosensory proteins, and perform functional experiments. This study has complemented the resource for the transcriptomes in the cerambycid beetles, and identifies molecular targets for pest control of this beetle.
