EUYO concert repository 1978 to 2025

Dataset, in .csv and .xlsx formats, containing a per-work record of 2,965 items, representing over 700 concerts and programme infromation covering the European Union Youth Orchestra from 1978 to 2025. As it is structured at a programme-item level, a single concert generally appears in multiple rows when several works, composers, soloists, conductors, or movements are recorded for the same event. Concert-level fields include date, local time, year, project or tour title, event type, city, country, venue, guest conductor, guest soloist, choir or ensemble, project ID, and concert ID. Repertoire-level fields include main and secondary composer names, work titles, catalogue numbers, movement or notes, composer nationality, birth and death years, and gender information for composers, conductors, and soloists, as available. These data can be used both as a chronological concert register and as the source data for repertoire, performer, composer, gender, geography, and event-type analytics. Location fields, including city, country, and venue, support mapping and geolocation of concert halls, although some online, recording, or incomplete historical entries have missing city or country data. For concert counts or deduplication, the data should be grouped carefully using concert_id and/or date, time, venue, city, country, and project fields, as multiple rows often belong to the same concert. The underlying data was drawn from publicly available pdf archival brochures (yearbooks) published on the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO) website. These data were then enhanced and verified by the organization within the context of the research project 'Composing Change. Orchestral Impact in European Societies' at the UWK (Donau-universität) Krems.
