Chickpea was extracted with ethanol and adjusted to 70% solid content. The extracts were used as CP in the present study and diluted to 0.5% in culture medium before use. 321 metabolic-syndrome-related genes and 13 control genes were tested using the Kurabo GeneSQUARE multiple assay DNA microarray. Gene that exhibited changes in gene expressions that were more than double during 8 days of differentiation from preadypocytes to adipocytes in the control group were 31 genes. However, the gene expressions induced for the control group were significantly inhibited compared to the G group in which CP coexisted during 8 days of differentiation. Overall design: 3T3-L1 cells were induced to adipocytes in differentiation-inducing media containing either 0.5%CP or additive-free media for 8 days. Total RNA were extracted from 3T3-L1 cells of before induction of differentiation (day0) to gene expression of 2 days after start of the differentiation (day2), 4 days later (day4), and 8 days later (day8). 321 metabolic-syndrome-related genes and 13 control genes were tested using the Kurabo GeneSQUARE multiple assay DNA microarray.
