UNRAVELING PSYCHOLOGICAL SAFETY IN SOFTWARE ENGINEERING: EMPIRICAL INSIGHTS AND ACTIONABLE GUIDELINES

This dataset was generated as part of a qualitative grey literature study exploring psychological safety in software engineering. The data were collected from discussions on Stack Exchange forums (Software Engineering Stack Exchange, Project Manager Stack Exchange, which offer insights from practitioners on real-world challenges and experiences.

The study aimed to identify interpersonal challenges (RQ1), contextual factors (RQ2 AND RQ3), and strategies (RQ4) related to psychological safety as reported in these informal yet professionally relevant discussions.

The repository includes:

A structured data extraction table summarizing the content of each thread and the corresponding qualitative codes;

The complete codebook used during the analysis, including category definitions, descriptions, and illustrative examples.
