The research projects introduce porous polymer onto the surface of zinc metallic anode to improve the corrosion resistance and reversibility in aqueous electrolytes, thereby enhancing the electrochemical performance and lifespan of zinc ion batteries. The dataset includes characterization data (<i>e.g., </i>FTIR, XRS, SEM, TEM, <i>etc.</i>) of the porous polymer coating; electrochemical test data on the stability, reversibility of the metallic Zn anode; and electrochemical performance data such as capacity, rate capability, and lifespan <i>etc.,</i> as well as simulation and theoretical calculation data.
