Stichprobenpflege im Längssschnitt BiKS-8-12 Sample Maintenance in the Longitudinal Study BiKS-8-12

Maßnahmen zur Stichprobenpflege haben in Längsschnittstudien eine große Bedeutung. Der vorliegende Beitrag beschreibt die in der Längsschnittstudie BiKS-8-12 eingesetzten Maßnahmen zur Stichprobenpflege bei Kindern, Eltern und Lehrer/-innen zu 6 Erhebungswellen. Ziel solcher Maßnahmen ist die Optimierung von Rücklaufquoten und der Datenqualität, die Minimierung von Panelmortalität sowie die Motivation zur Studienteilnahme und die Bindung der Studienteilnehmer/-innen an das Projekt. Anhand unterschiedlicher Informations-strategien und zielgruppenspezifischer Incentivierung wird dargestellt, welche Möglichkeiten bei der Stichprobenpflege bestehen und welche Schwierigkeiten entstehen können. Methods of sample maintenance are of high importance in longitudinal surveys. The present report describes methods of sample maintenance for children, parents and teachers used in the longitudinal study BiKS-8-12 for 6 survey waves. Aim of those methods is to optimize response rates and data quality, to minimize panel attrition, to sustain the study participants project commitment and it serves as motivation to participate in the study. On the basis of different information strategies and group specific incentivizing it is shown which possibilities are given by methods of sample maintenance and which problems are possible to occur.
