资源简介:
In November 1997, St. Louis District personnel visited the Missouri Army National Guard (MOARNG) Headquarters and the Missouri Historic Preservation Program in Jefferson City, and the Archaeological Survey of Missouri in Columbia to research archaeological and historic buildings survey work conducted on National Guard facilities in the state. This document reports the history of cultural investigations on federally owned or federally supported MOARNG facilities, lists archaeological sites and historic buildings recorded within facility boundaries, discusses historic contexts and predictive models, and provides a list of Native American tribes that may be culturally affiliated with archaeological collections recovered from MOARNG facilities. To date, 96 historic properties, including archaeological sites and historic buildings, have been recorded on six facilities, including Camp Clark, Camp Crowder, Ike Skelton Training Site, Jefferson Barracks, Macon Training Site, and Wappapello Training Site. No cultural resources have been recorded on Raytown Training Center. One cultural property, 23SL656, Jefferson Barracks National Historic District, has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The extent, nature, and location of archaeological collections recovered from work conducted on MOARNG facilities will be determined in the second phase of this project, to be completed during Fiscal Year 1999.
